Mums new home

well what a time we have had ...

this is why I have not been a very good blogger of late ...

Mum had a nasty fall in her flat and was rushed into hospital via 999 ... she was in hospital falling all over the place following a stroke which affected the Cerebellum at the back of her head which is the part that controls her balance and the Doctors said she was not safe to go home to her lovely flat ... so we (my sister and I) had to rush to find her a new home ... oooo it is so very hard ... I do hope she will settle in as at the moment she is asking to "go home" ... we will probably rent her lovely flat out which will help us with the care fees ... wow some of the homes we looked at were quoting £1000 per week ... disgusting !!

anyway thank you to you all for your lovely messages and kind wishes ... have scanned the brochure photos to show you ...

I visit most days but come away in tears ... she has become old overnight and it breaks my heart to see here there ... but I know it is for her safety

Oh dear poor Sandy it must be an awful decision to have to make but your Mum's safety and well being must come first. Hope she settles in soon for you, Susan x

Sorry to hear this Sandy, but I know just how you feel. At least you know she is cared for. Hope she settles in soon, it looks a nice place.

Sandy I know it's hard hun but it will get easier over time, we had to put Alan's mum into a care home after she lost her leg to diabetes and I could not continue to manage the 50 mile round trip twice a day to give her insulin injection and make sure she was eating etc. She came round in the end but yes the first six months were the worst of our lives we felt so guilty. But Your mum is being cared for and it looks to be a beautiful care home, take away the knowledge that she is safe and being cared for. Sending you big hugs. Alison xxx
