My lovely son

so proud of our lovely son ... he attended a PGA dinner the other night and had no idea that this was going to happen ... well done our son :)

Kevin and Sally in their kitchen ooo love em to bits

these were the words that were read out on the evening ... think it must have been clear that they were talking about his marvelous achievements ... but I think he was wondering what was going to come next lol

    Coach of the Year:
Our Coach of the Year has been a Full Member of The PGA since 2001, and he was made a Fellow of The PGA in 2014.  He is a Plane Truth Golf Instructor, a Registered Disabled Golf Coach and a European Golf Development Consultant.

He hails from the south coast in Hampshire and is the Squad Coach to both the Hampshire Ladies and Hampshire Girls.  Both teams have shared success and Hampshire were winners of the England Golf Women's County Finals in 2014 and South Region Junior Girls Champions in 2015 under his watchful eye and the continued tutelage of this PGA Professional.  And he is central in the development of the Hampshire Girls Golf Academy.

I have a quote from one of his peers, who is a recently qualified PGA Professional:  "Since our meeting last year, I have been inspired by his dedication, motivation and commitment to coaching.  From his work in Hampshire increasing participation among junior girls through to his achievements as a national coach. He works selflessly for the improvement of others. Kevin has been a tremendous support and is always available for encouragement."

He is also Golf Coach of the Latvian Ladies Golf Federation and he coached and guided them to a Bronze Medal in 2015 and a Silver Medal in 2016 in the European Ladies' Team Shield Championship - a fantastic achievement for what is a very much developing and emerging golfing nation.  Let's hope they can go one better in 2017.

A lot of his knowledge and drive comes from his mentor and close friend - the great John Jacobs.  I know John will be very proud of you receiving this award.

This award is not a spurious bumper sticker - it is to recognise and celebrate the fact you are clearly a highly qualified, respected and pioneering PGA Professional and teacher of the game of golf, whilst remaining as modest and down to earth as ever.  You are an integral and essential part in golf development at all levels, whether it is making a beginner golfer feel comfortable in their new environment or helping an international player prepare for their next tournament, doing this by keeping the golfer's wants and needs front and central at all times.  But what sets you apart is the unwavering commitment to go beyond the call of duty to help, support, encourage and care for all the players you work with.
