Mum's 80th birthday book

made this for my dear Mum a while back ... well she is 82 now ... I was not much into blogging when I made it  ... but decided to put it on my blog now as a memory ...

there are a lot of pages so here goes

Mum and Dad on their wedding day ... and Mums Mum and Dad outside their house

My Mums family including her twin sister

Mum again with her twin sister on either side of their other sister ...

Actually my grandmother had three sets of twins ... very rare don't you think ?

Mum's Mum and Dad again

the photo on the right was taken at

Brighton

Mum and her twin playing on the beach ...

I covered this photo with "tracing paper" to give it a different look

Mum on her own ... think she may have a

spike growing out of her head !!

final page with the lovely Mum's verse

Back page with 80 balloons

and these are some of the poems I used for the card

A Mum gives hope when life is low ~ A Mum's a place where you can go ~
A Mum is honest A Mum is true  ~ A Mum is precious  ~ That Mum is you

When God was making Mothers
As far as I can see,
He Spent a lot on one
And saved that just for me
He made a perfect woman
Compassionate and kind,
With more patience and affection
Than you could hope to find
He gave this lovely lady
A heart of solid gold
And after God had finished
He must have broke the mould

You were always there for us
when we needed a hand to hold.
You waited at the end of our rainbow;
you were our pot of gold.
Now it’s our turn to be needed,
to be the ones to care,
and Mum, whenever
you need us,
we promise we’ll be there.

Having you for a Mom was the best beginning
life could have given us

You deserve a birthday
that's happy as can be, filled
with warmth and special times
that suit you to a "Tea"!
Or better still a coffee

and finally a favorite of mine

A Mother is caring right from the start,
A child is a gift she keeps close to her heart.
They turn to each other on difficult days,
Problems disappear and leave without trace.
A child depends on the one they hold dear,
Over distances far, Mum's love is still near.
To possess this bond is a gift we should treasure,
It's something to hold, so sacred forever.
I know for myself the joy this bond brings,
As you and I Mum share all of these things.

thank you for looking and any comments you may care to leave ... happy crafting all
